updated on 25 May, 2022
Very successful meeting of AIRBSNLEWA UP (East) with CGMT UP (East) on 25th May 2022 at Lucknow.
Com. Pallab Bose CS, Com. SM Abbas Circle President and Com AK Tripathi ACS had a detailed discussion with CGMT UP (East) Shri Rajiv Johri ji regarding payment of long pending medical claims of UP (East) BSNL Pensioners.
(a). We expressed our serious concern for non-payment of medical claims of UP (East) BSNL pensioners for the last four years and settlement of long pending medical claims. We had requested to increase the liability for the long pending medical claims of BSNL pensioners.
We further informed CGMT UPE that the list of sanctioned funds for pensioners in UP (E) circle is usually prepared after provision of funds by BSNL Corporate Office. Because of this, by the time the lists are available, the amount has run out. Hence no benefit reaches the UP (E) pensioners.
We also informed the Chief General Manager that due to lack of homework done by the UP(East) Accounts Department, they are unable to file requests for suitable amount for pensioners in time.
Com. Pallab Bose accused the UP (East) BSNL administrator of ignoring the BSNL pensioners and paying the medical claims of BSNL working employees regularly.
Circle secretary Com Bose requested the CGM to direct all SSA chiefs of UP (East) to prepare complete list of pending medical bills with/without vouchers and maintain transparency on the notice board.
This prepared list will help in creating the liability for pending medical bills with/without vouchers for timely release of funds by BSNL Corporate Office Delhi.
CGMT UP (East) Shri Rajiv Johri ji appreciated our concern and assured to look into the matter. He immediately directed PGMTD Lucknow and GMTD Faizabad to prepare complete list of pending medical bills (with/without voucher). He directed the PGM Admin Shri Babu Ram ji present in the meeting to issue a letter to all the SSA heads on behalf of the CGM to get the list of pending medical bills of the pensioners immediately.
We also pointed out that the amount given by the Corporate Office for settlement of medical bills of UP (East) pensioners till December 2019 was disbursed only to working employees and not to UP(E) pensioners. The pensioners of UP (East) are angry and saddened by this attitude of BSNL UP (East) administration.
(b) We also discussed the long pending medical payment of Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmed Retd. AGM Faizabad. We also sought appropriate action against the responsible officers who deliberately delayed the process in this matter.
Hon’ble Chief General Manager, Uttar Pradesh (East) very patiently acknowledged our concerns and assured timely action in this regard.
The meeting lasted for one and a half hours.
